BEHOLD, I AM AGAINST YOU, O DESTROYING MOUNTAIN, WHICH DESTROYS ALL THE EARTH; AND I WILL STRETCH OUT MY HAND AGAINST YOU, ROLL YOU DOWN FROM THE ROCKS, AND MAKE YOU A BURNT MOUNTAIN.
The Epitaph is a small homebrew expansion for Tom Bloom's CAIN, a narrative TTRPG about psychic death soldiers fighting monsters manifested from trauma. It contains a new and unique sin for exorcists to face against, one that will pose territory-based challenges.
Not born from a human's trauma, the Epitaph emerges when a location has been submerged in enough trauma that the dead themselves rile against the living, demanding that their voices be heard and pain be known. The land itself stands against you - tear it down, root it out, and wipe the stain away.
